In the movie, Davis Okoye (Dwayne Johnson) mentions George is the only albino gorilla in existence. In reality, there actually was only one known albino gorilla. He was born in Spanish Guinea around 1964 and brought to the Barcelona Zoo in 1966. The mayor of Barcelona called him "Blancanieves" (Snow White) but a year later he got his final name when he was featured on the cover of National Geographic Magazine as "Snowflake". During his stay at the Barcelona zoo, Snowflake fathered twenty-two offspring but only six survived to adulthood. None of his offspring were albino. He died at the Barcelona Zoo on November 24th, 2003 at the age of around 38.
