After Superman v Batman: Dawn of Justice (2016) was originally greenlit, Alexandra Daddario quickly became the number one fan choice to play Wonder Woman. After the then unknown Gal Gadot was cast, there was an outcry of disappointment by several fans, demanding to know why she was cast instead of Daddario, who many felt was much more suited for the role than Gadot. But Zack Snyder never gave an explanation why he chose Gadot over other actresses.
