Charlie Ruggles, who plays Cousin Freddie, also played the grandfather of identical twin girls (played by Hayley Mills) who switch places in "The Parent Trap" (1961). In both movies he is the first one who figures out the switch and confronts one of the girls in a scene similar to the one here.
