Andrea Roncato stated that he accepted to reprise his role as talent scout Andrea Bergonzoni only due to his friendship with director Sergio Martino, because he usually doesn't like to appear in sequels. He was also unhappy with the choice not to include in the cast Gigi Sammarchi, who played Brazilian talent scout Giginho in L'allenatore nel pallone (1984).
