As Jack enters the hotel for the first time and stops at the Reception desk, he walks right in front of double doors with a sign for the Gold Room next to them. Several framed black-and-white photographs are visible on a wall behind those doors. The final scene is a zoom on these photographs, to Jack's image captured in a 1921 photo.
