Excluding battles with Cilan, Brock, Clemont and Misty, Ash has battled the same Gym Leader after obtaining their badge on three different occasions. He battled Gardenia (in a Tag Battle with Dawn) in Pokémon: Natane and Sabonea! Farewell to Whom!? (2007) and Wattson in Pokémon: Return to Kinsetsu Gym! Vs Livolt!! (2004) and Korrina in Pokémon: A Battle Festival Exploding With Life! VS Mega Lucario!! (2020).
