In Looper (2012), Jeff Daniels plays Abe, who is Joe's (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) boss but also acts as a mentor. Their characters shared a similar mentoring relationship in Sguardo nel vuoto (2007), where Daniels plays Gordon-Levitt's roommate who helps him cope with a disability.
