An early preview of the movie released only a few weeks before the movie's actual release did not include any confusion about what the last words Megamind's parents said to him. In this version, his parents tell him "You are destined for greatness", prompting his future, narrator self to respond "that was a lot of expectation to place on a 1 day old."
