Both composer Hans Zimmer and director Denis Villeneuve grew up with a deep appreciation of the novel of Dune. When Villaneuve was leaving the country to go film the movie overseas, Zimmer said to Villaneuve "Don't f*** it up." When Villaneuve returned to hand the movie over to Zimmer to score, he returned the same sentiment, "Don't f*** it up." Dune eventually earned 10 Academy Award nominations, including one for Best Picture, and brought home six awards, including Best Music for Zimmer.
