When Mildred begins working in the downtown restaurant, she makes pies at home for the restaurant. In a kitchen conversation with her maid Lottie, she says that they "have made a dozen peach, a dozen berry, a dozen pumpkin and a dozen cherry; now after a dozen apple we can quit for the night." That's 60 pies that Mildred and Lottie manage to crank out in one night.
