McDonald's pulled out of a Batman - Il ritorno (1992) promotion after the movie's release due to the dark subject matter and the controversy surrounding the film. They told Warner Bros. they would not participate in any cross-marketing campaigns with Warner Bros. on a third entry of this franchise if Tim Burton was the director again.
