At the time of the show's cancellation by ABC, the lead production company of the series, 20th Century Fox Television, was a division of 21st Century Fox, which then also owned the Fox network, which revived the series for a 7th season in 2018. During the 7th season, most of 21st Century Fox was sold to Disney, owner of ABC, including TCF TV, but not including the Fox network, which became part of the new Fox Corporation. Thus, the series went from a show essentially being produced by Fox for ABC, to one essentially being produced by ABC for Fox.
