Samuel L. Jackson auditioned for the role of Holdaway, which was eventually played by Randy Brooks. After that, Jackson worked in almost of Tarantino's movies (except in Four Rooms (1995), Kill Bill - Volume 1 (2003), Grindhouse - A prova di morte (2007) and C'era una volta... a Hollywood (2019)), being nominated to an Academy Award for his role in Pulp Fiction (1994), while Brooks never worked with Tarantino again.
