Pray Tell reads Angel for her look in the "High Fashion Evening Wear, Ladies of Luxury" category in season 1. Angel mentions her dress is a Halston, to which Pray Tell responds, "Halston?..For JCPenney?" Halston was a popular U.S Designer who rose to fame in the 1970s and announced a billion dollar licensing deal with JCPenney in the 1980s. Pose creator Ryan Murphy produced a limited series based on Halston for Netflix in 2021.
