Somewhat confusingly, the ITV 3 restoration version of the early seasons have the copyright retro-fitted to read ITV Studios, with the original broadcast copyright year. However, the titles indicate that the series was developed for television by Picture Partnership Productions, later re-named Carnival Films. In 2008, by then re-named again to "Carnival Film & Television Limited" after it became a division of NBCUniversal International Studios, this means that theoretically "Agatha Christie's Poirot" is now technically a joint Universal Television production, similar to ITV's "Downton Abbey", also made by Comcast's Universal Carnival division, with legacy copyright shared with ITV Studios.
