This is Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber's fifth musical to be adapted into a movie (whether cinematic, televised, or straight to video) following Jesus Christ Superstar (1973), Evita (1996), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (1999), and Il fantasma dell'opera (2004). (Some of the aforementioned plays have been filmed more than once.)
