Talbot originally suffered a more graphic death, as detailed in the illustrated screenplay and Peter David's novelization. He used either an automatic weapon or armor-piercing bullets against the Hulk. Talbot fires at the Hulk, who grows large enough to fill the corridor after escaping the sticky foam, the bullets bounce off of him, ricochet, and Talbot gets riddled by the stray bullets.
