When Bob Barker went from dark hair to white hair, there was quite an adjustment period for his makeup to look good on camera. Sometimes the foundation was too dark, or too light, or seemed too yellow or too orange on camera, so several screen tests were done to make it as natural as possible. When the set was repainted in a predominantly blue tone, it made Bob loo washed out, so they readjusted the set colors, as well as the makeup. It's not always as much about correcting flaws as it is about depth and contrast.
