Another superhero sequel, Spider-Man 3 (2007), set the record the previous summer. This movie held it until the release of Harry Potter e i Doni della Morte - Parte 2 (2011), which had an opening weekend of $169,189,427, which was beaten by The Avengers (2012), with $200.3 million. This is the fourth Batman movie to break the opening weekend record following Batman (1989), Batman - Il ritorno (1992), and Batman Forever (1995).
