Alec Guinness, who plays Christopher Plummer's father, went on to play Obi-Wan Kenobi in the "Star Wars" films. Plummer went on to win an Oscar for his performance in Beginners (2010), in which he plays the father of Ewan McGregor, who played the younger Obi-Wan Kenobi.
