The Magnificent Seven remake shares the same plot of previous westerns like El Dorado (1966) and Pale Rider (1985), whereas the main antagonist in all three films are corrupt businessmen/land barons and their minions terrorizing small towns into giving up their land and an outsider coming to their rescue and help put up resistance.
