At the end of the film, Lhikan sacrifices his life to save Vakama. In 2011, Bionicle writer Greg Farshtey revealed that Lhikan had been immediately brought back to life on a space station called the Red Star, and remained stranded there for a thousand years together with other reanimated characters, slowly decaying over time. Farshtey reportedly came up with this twist because he liked the idea of "zombies on a space station". He intended to follow up on this and write a definite end to Lhikan, but had to abandon the story before that.
