Nick and Judy faking Judy's death at the museum is a small tribute to I racconti dello zio Tom (1946) and the Uncle Remus stories. In the stories, Brer Rabbit fakes his own death to escape from the main animal antagonists, most famously done in the "Everyone has a Laighin' Place" story.
