Warner Brothers hired Paul Dini and others that worked on the TV series to write a live action screenplay based on Batman of the Future (1999). It was to be directed by Boaz Yakin, but eventually Warner Brothers decided to go with a film adaptation of Batman: Year One, to be directed by Darren Aronofsky. The Batman: Year One project was also scrapped and then Christopher Nolan took over, which resulted in the film Batman Begins (2005).
