As the shooting location for this film was moved to Georgia, in contrast to the first film being shot in California, Rob Zombie and the film crew had to work around shooting the film in gloomy and humid weather, which was very unpredictable. The script had to constantly be altered to accommodate sudden rainstorms, sometimes forcing shooting to be indoors. The hospital scene for example, where Laurie makes it out to a rain soaked parking lot, was not scripted and the rain wasn't stage rain, it was real weather.
