In 1949 Jack Benny reprised his role as Athanael on radio for The Ford Theater's reworked production of the story, which also featured Claude Rains, Bea Benaderet and Mel Blanc. The radio show's script formed the basis for the subsequent 1953 television adaptation, Omnibus: The Horn Blows at Midnight (1953).
