The Operations Officer, CPT Matt Dillon, later commanded the 2nd Battalion, 60th Infantry, 9th Infantry Division in Vietnam in 1969, succeeding Fred Keith Mahaffey. Fred Mahaffey would later become the youngest 4 Star General in the modern history of the US Army.
