Sir Peter Jackson originally planned to adapt the book "The Hobbit" into the first part of a trilogy, with the other two being adapted from "The Lord of the Rings". The Hobbit was eventually adapted by Jackson into not one, but three films: Lo Hobbit - Un viaggio inaspettato (2012), The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (2013), and Lo Hobbit - La battaglia delle cinque armate (2014).
