Micheal Myer's original escape scene, where two drunk guards bring a female inmate into his cell to rape was rejected for the theatrical cuts and Rob Zombie was asked to shoot a different escape during additional photography. For this scene he recruited La casa del diavolo (2005) stars Leslie Easterbrook, Bill Moseley and Tom Towles to play the guards. The original scene was put back in the director's cut. During additional photography he also added Sid Haig's cameo, the scene where Bracket buys hamburgers while being warned by Loomis and the scene where Micheal attacks Laurie while she climbs in the roof.
