The aircraft that flies Gerbier back from England for his parachute drop into France is an Armstrong Whitworth Whitley Mk. V, represented by a fairly accurate model. The fuselage interior was reconstructed in the studio. The plane carries the "EY-L" code letters of RAF 78 squadron, which flew the Whitley from 1937 through March 1942. Whitleys were often used for operations of this sort. The lightplanes doing the pickup in the field represent Westland Lysanders. A Stinson SR-10C Reliant was used in place of an actual Lysander. The plane was made to look quite similar to a Lysander, particularly in silhouette. The serial number from an actual Lysander was applied to it.
