(at around 12 mins) Before the radioactive spider bites Miles, it crawls over the spray paint cans and changes color to match each can. This is the power later passed on to Miles. It also suggests that Miles doesn't actually become invisible as everybody else in the film says. Rather, he most likely changes color to blend in with his background.
