Despite being similar in tone to Una pallottola spuntata (1988) movie trilogy and featuring some of the same actors (e.g. Leslie Nielsen, 'Weird Al' Yankovic), neither Jerry Zucker, Jim Abrahams, nor David Zucker had any involvement in the conception or production of Spia e lascia spiare (1996).
