It is explained quite early on that Vampires in the Blade Trilogy don't have any reactions to religious Icons like the crucifix. They can also cross running water without problems, and enter homes without being invited. Furthermore, their sensitivity to garlic and sunlight seem to be due to a specific biological intolerance or allergy, and their dependence on foreign blood is explained as the result of a hemoglobin deficiency, thus making it seem like the film is mostly science-fiction based rather than supernatural in regards to the Vampire Myth. However, there still remains a bit of magic in the Blade Trilogy, since Frost's whole plan is to use a ritual to transform himself into La Magra, which is regarded a deity. However, the fact that it can eventually be destroyed with an anti-vampire serum indicates that the monster is largely biological.
