Grooberson finding Vinz eating dog food is a nod to Louis initially thinking someone brought a dog to his party in Ghostbusters (Acchiappafantasmi) (1984). And Vinz causing Gary's tires to deflate before consuming him is an awkward attempt to callback how the patrons of Tavern on the Green watch Rick Moranis get devoured by a demon dog and return to their meals nonplussed.
