Denis Villeneuve's plans for Dune (2021) are quite ambitious, as he hopes to make it the Star Wars he never saw. In an interview, he explained that most of the main ideas of Guerre stellari (1977) came from Dune, so it will be a challenge to tackle this project. Villeneuve even said, "In a way, it's Star Wars for adults." Oscar Isaac, who plays Duke Leto Atreides in the film, played Poe Dameron in Star Wars - Il risveglio della Forza (2015), Star Wars - Gli ultimi Jedi (2017), and Star Wars - L'ascesa di Skywalker (2019), and voiced Poe in Star Wars: Resistance (2018).
