Several subplots in the film are left hanging or go unresolved in the film, according to viewers. These include Lisa wanting to move in with her father, her affair with her teacher Mr. Aaron, Lisa's abortion (which was never even implied in the film, as she never acknowledged her pregnancy), Joan's romance with Ramon, etc. These subplots had more scenes dedicated to them in the extended cut.
