La fantastica Jeannie (1973) from the cartoon as well as Alex and Alexandra Cabot and Melody from Josie e le Pussycats (1970) were originally set to appear on the show as members of the Scoobies. In fact, they were even in some of the early promotional ads for the show. However, the character of Jeannie was owned by Columbia Pictures and Alex, Alexandra and Melody were owned by Archie Comics and because of this they were not allowed to be on the show.
