When Gabriel is writing his letter to his family, his voice is heard narrating the letter as he is writing. At one point he mentions how his good friend, Peter Cuppin, was killed at Elizabethtown. However, if you read the letter he is writing on the screen you can see that he actually wrote that Peter Cuppin was killed at Monmouth. This is historically significant as the battle of Monmouth was in New Jersey in 1778 and was lead by General George Washington. The battle of Elizabethtown was in 1780 and also in New Jersey under Major General Nathanael Greene.
