Arnold Schwarzenegger turned down the opportunity to return as Dutch. This marks the fourth time he has declined the chance to reprise his role: he skipped Predator 2 (1990) due to salary disputes, and because it would have clashed with the filming of Un poliziotto alle elementari (1990); for the crossover film Alien vs. Predator (2004), he was willing to make a cameo but had no choice but to turn it down, as he had just been elected Governor of California and his schedule would have made it impossible. The same reason was given for him having to decline a cameo in Predators (2010).
