According to the upcoming original cut named Andrew Adamson's Shrek 2, John Lithgow will reprise his role as Lord Farquaad (who will follow Shrek, Fiona, and Donkey to Far Far Away and get his revenge), Farquaad redeeming himself and saving Shrek from the Fairy Godmother, Fiona will accept Shrek's offer to remain humans and kiss him before midnight strikes, and Harold will not get turned into a frog by the Fairy Godmother. Andrew Adamson suggests that the final cut was changed with Farquaad's scenes being cut, the Fairy Godmother dying, Fiona and Shrek turning back into ogres, and Harold turned into a frog.
