Megan Fox was famously let go from the Transformers (2007) movie series after commenting on Michael Bay's dictatorial directing style in an interview, half-jokingly drawing parallels between him and Adolf Hitler. Although Bay said he took no offense, he did respond by citing some of the issues he had with Fox. Producer Steven Spielberg, however, was so dismayed by the comparison that he had her fired from Transformers 3 (2011). Apparently, Bay bore no long-time grudge towards Fox, because when he produced this movie, he offered her the role of April O'Neill.
