All of the scenes set in Egypt were actually shot in Budapest, Hungary. In an interview with the Egyptian website Fil Fan on March 20, 2022, director Mohamed Diab said that 'Moon Knight' was set to be filmed in Egypt, but due to the difficulty of obtaining permits, the shooting was moved to Hungary. Diab said that approximately 3 billion Egyptian pounds (US$165 million) were spent in the Hungarian capital, Budapest, during the filming.
