Dan Aykroyd tasked Howard Shore; then the musical director of Il Saturday Night Live (1975); to find professional musicians for the Blues Brothers Band. Shortly thereafter, Shore began his collaboration with director David Cronenberg, which included La mosca (1986). Kathleen Freeman appeared in the original, L'esperimento del dottor K. (1958).
