It was reported that whilst filming the scene in which his character dies Andrew Dice Clay continuously ad-lib ed a line regarding his brother (previously referred to as the man his wife left him for) as a twin, thus creating the opportunity of him returning to the show in the future. After a few takes director Martin Scorsese asked him to drop that line, which he reluctantly did.
