In the comics (Jason Aaron and Esad Ribic's God Butcher saga), Gorr was so powerful that it took three versions of Thor and several rounds to bring him down. Young, present-day, and old (King Thor) all teamed up and utilized two Mjolnirs, one other very large hammer, and King Thor summoning the Thor-Force (formerly the Odin-Force). Right before dying, Gorr gets into present-day Thor's head, causing him to lose faith in himself, resulting in him becoming unworthy to wield Mjolnir (which allowed Jane Foster to take over as the hammer's user).
