During the two part "War" Will Friedle recalled that during a dream sequence of Eric sleeping there was to be a scene with Eric, Shawn, Corey, and Jack play Russian Roulette in Vietnam as a nod to the Deer Hunter. The scene was filmed with Eric pulling the trigger and waking up but Friedle says Disney immediately had the scene taken out as it was considered to violent for a kids show. Friedle also said he liked the "darker" episodes where Eric is more of a serious character and less of a bumbling fool.
