Both this series and I Dream of Jeannie (1965) premiered on NBC the same night back-to-back, on September 18, 1965. Both shows lasted five season (though the final season of this series aired on CBS), had female leads named Barbara (Feldon on this series, Eden on I Dream of Jeannie), produced 139 episodes, and killed the romantic tension between the two leads characters by having them marry, thus constructively ending each show (Maxwell Smart and Agent 99 in this series' fourth season, Jeannie and Major Anthony Nelson in I Dream of Jeannie's fifth and final season).
