During a meeting mid-production, Kim Basinger told Ralph Bakshi and Frank Mancuso Jr. that this would be wonderful if she could show this movie to sick children in hospitals. Bakshi replied "Kim, I think that's wonderful, but you've got the wrong guy to do that with. Why didn't you tell me that on the way in? How are you telling me that halfway through the picture?" Mancuso reportedly agreed with Basinger that this was a good idea.
