Don Bluth worked on many classic movies in the Disney cannon before he broke away and started his own production company; Sleeping Beauty (1959) - assistant animator; The Sword in the Stone (1963) - assistant animator; Robin Hood (1973) - character animator; Escape to Witch Mountain (1975) - animator opening credits; The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (1977) - animator; The Rescuers (1977) - directing animator; Pete's Dragon (1977) - animator. Blum was also had non-Disney credits such as one of the chief animators on The Archies (1969), a Saturday morning TV show, and layout artist for Journey Back to Oz (1972).
