As featured in The Death of Superman Lives: What Happened? (2015), Jon Peters has denied large amounts of Kevin Smith's story about not wanting Superman to be in his suit or flying. He did confirm that the giant spider was his idea and ultimately put a version of it into his next project, Wild Wild West (1999).
